Homework
1-2 hours per week. 2 worksheets will be provided each lesson for completion. Each week, we will begin with self-checking for correctness.
Assessment
Assessments are encouraged, but are optional. All students wishing to take part in this opportunity are eligible at any time. We will have optional performance assessments at the mid point and at the end of our course. Students may upload a solo of their choice to the classroom. Personalized assessments from Miss Lenora will be provided privately with a focus on confidence building while gently focusing on areas for improvement. In addition, at the end of course, there is a two-page review for students to complete and upload to classroom for assessment.
Certificate of Completion
Students will receive a personalized certificate of achievement at the end of the course providing they submit the performance assessment videos as required.

Welcome to our introductory course, "Music Theory for Singers with Miss Lenora."  In this 10 lesson course, young students will learn the basics of music theory for singers. The ability to read sheet music helps students identify notes, chords, and rhythms with greater ease.  As they continue to familiarize themselves with reading music, they are developing the ability to sight-read and sing more complex pieces of music.  Miss Lenora will have the students singing and strengthening their singing skills. 

Reading music is essential for singers to perform in choirs, auditions, musical theatre, music for commercials (jingles) and a future as a successful singer.

Miss Lenora's teaching approach is both supportive and inspiring, ensuring that each student feels encouraged to explore their musical potential. By the end of this course, young singers will not only have a stronger grasp of music theory but will also gain the confidence to perform with poise and artistry. Each lesson, our class structure will include:
• One 10 minute video where Miss Lenora teaches the day’s lesson. 

• 2 work sheets per lesson to be completed after class and self-checked at the beginning of the next lesson. 

• students are encouraged to post to our classroom, ask questions, and have fun along the way! 

• (optional) At the mid-point and end of our course, students will upload a solo of their choice to the classroom.   Performance assessments from Miss Lenora will be provided privately 1) great job 2) good job 3) needs work  - Lenora will give feed back focusing on confidence building and highlighting areas for improvement.
