Description

Class Experience

Students will learn the facts and skills to master quarter note counting in 4/4 and 3/4 timing. By successfully completing this course, your learner will be set-up to continue with Stage 2 where we add more complex rhythms.
Hello Outschool Friends! I'm Ms. Katie and I love music! I am a classically trained pianist and have a degree in music education. For over 20 years I've been teaching music, and I'm looking forward to you being my next student!
Students are always encourage to practice their rhythms between our live meetings.
Your learner will need 1 plastic cup, such as a plastic Solo cup. If the cup is quite thin/weak, I recommend stacking two cups and taping them together. Occasionally our tapping may become "enthusiastic," and we don't want our cups to break. :-)
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Your learner will need an empty space such as a table, desk, counter top, or even the floor to tap their cup. An area free of food, toys, games, books, and other distractions will help your learner to get the most out of our classes. Eating and playing with toys during class may create an environment unsuitable for learning.
