No prior knowledge is required to take this class. Your camper will be learning the basic terminology and process of music production. They will learn about the basics of hardware, such as types and functions or cables, mixers, MIDI, etc. They will be introduced to the basic concept and functions of Digital Audio Workstations (DAW) such as GarageBand and Reaper. The camp will meet for an hour, daily for one week. During each class, students will be presented with content through a short...
Campers will be able to set up and record their own beat and/or song using free music production software. Campers will learn basic music production processes and terminology.
Campers will be given two assignments over the week-long camp and be asked to create a final project at the end of the camp. Homework and final project should take no more than 15-30 mins to complete, respectively.

Informal assessment of camper progress will be achieved through interactive class elements, 2 homework projects, and final project.
4 hours 35 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Parental permission is required to download GarageBand and Reaper DAWs; also to navigate to and use websites such as Incredibox, Soundation, Google Chrome Labs, etc.
