Music Recording and Production
In this one-on-one tutoring/ pvt class I'll meet students at their current level of knowledge about music production. I'll introduce the student to free software and show them how to record great-sounding music.

US Grade 4 - 12
Beginner - Advanced Level
I will be helping students familiarize themselves with DAWs/recording software, important audio engineering and sound design techniques, basic audio synthesis and some genre-specific tips to get them moving in the right direction for their particular music goals. The instructions will be based on the students' prior knowledge and I'll give the students exercises and practice assignments to build their confidence with creating full recorded tracks.

Learning Needs
I have experience accommodating students with 504 and IEP special needs requests, so any adjustments or extra support can be discussed on a case-by case basis.
Parental Guidance
Music, especially lyrical music can cover a variety of themes, I'll discuss which genres or artists, themes etc are off-limits on a case-to-case basis, but generally try to steer students towards examples of inoffensive and radio-friendly music.
Pre-Requisites
Love for music, basic knowledge of computers, access to a computer capable of running BandLab or Reaper, and intermediate experience with an instrument or singing.
Supply List
Necessary - Computer capable of running BandLab and Reaper, headphones. Recommended - entry level midi controller, audio interface or usb microphone.

The websites of reputable audio software companies will be mentioned for requisite tools. YouTube will also be used to freely listen to tracks and provide examples of certain techniques or artist journeys.
Teacher expertise and credentials
I manufactured electronics at the PRS Guitars factory on Kent Island. I've also performed, recorded and written music for myself and other artists for the last decade in the Maryland music scene. Production work includes full track recording, recording podcast intro music, remixes and more.
