In this music class, students will explore the basics of recorders. The class will be direct instruction and performance based. Students are encouraged to practice using the techniques learned in class to advance and learn the beginning songs and warm-ups. It is suggested for students to have their own recorder, preferably one of the two options mentioned below:

Option #1 is around $5.00 (This is the MPI Prism 2-piece Soprano Recorder (color options) and Neckstrap from Music Products Inc. This includes $4.00 for the recorder and $1.00 for the neckstrap).

Option #2 is around $10.00 (This includes everything listed in Option 1 and the Recorder Express Book. This is the RECOMMENDED option so students can practice at home.

Students will receive individual instruction and will be structured like a Karate Dojo.  Students can earn 10 belt rankings for each warm-up/song they master to complete the course and move on to "Advance Recorder Karate". In order to achieve mastery it is recommended that students take the full 10 class sessions and develop practice skills so they can chart their learning at their own pace, but if students complete the course and earn all 10 belts before the end of the 10 classes then a pro-rated refund will be given for the remaining sessions.
