Homework
1 hour per week. Notation and Rhythmic practice. Completion is optional. Answer Keys will be provided.
Assessment
Assessments will be used to check student understanding and offer feedback. Assessments will be completed through Google Forms and offered at the end of each week.

Class Experience

Beginner Level
Welcome to Music Reading Made Easy! This a 5 week course in learning to how to read basic music. Students should leave this class understanding how to read notes on the Treble and Bass Clef, identify the Staff, different note durations, rests, and other music theory basics. This class will use a mixture of slides, games, drawings and discussion in order to help students learn how to read music. 

Mini video Lessons and materials will be posted for practice in our classroom page. Students/families should message if they have questions or need assistance!

Syllabus

Lesson 1:
The Staff and its Parts
 Learn about the Staff, its parts, and the Musical Alphabet.

Lesson 2:
Treble Clef
 We will learn about methods to read the lines and spaces for Treble Clef. 
5 mins of video lessons
Lesson 3:
Bass Clef
 We will learn about methods to read the lines and spaces for Bass Clef. 
Lesson 4:
Note Durations
 We will discuss Whole, Half, Quarter, and 8th Notes and how to clap and count them within music.
