Description
Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
The main goal in this lesson is that students learn the necessary skills to compose and record a song using GarageBand. At the end of this course, students will have created an original musical composition. However, my ultimate goal is that the students take with them something valuable, regardless of their level, that they can apply for the rest of their journey as recording artists.
There will not be any homework in this class. However, there will be a set of goals to be completed on each lesson that will build up to a final assessment; if not completed during one session, the student must complete them before the next class begins.
Student will need to have GarageBand installed in his/her computer and, preferably, an audio interface, headphones, a microphone and a keyboard midi controller. Student will also need access to Google Drive, where they will access files and GarageBand sessions that will be used in class.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
All exercises in class will be performed in GarageBand for Mac. It is important that the application is installed and used in a computer such as a laptop or desktop unit, and not on a iOS device. Google Drive will also be used to download audio files and GarageBand sessions needed for in-class activities.
