Beginner - Intermediate Level
This is a one-time introductory course for high school-age students interested in music production. Students must have access to a Digital audio workstation such as Logic(apple only), Garage Band (Apple's Free software), or Soundtrap (license required, Windows and Mac); the concepts covered can be used in all programs. This class will lead to an ongoing course of study. See the production process from start to finish. In addition, audio engineering and music composition will be covered. This class is for you if you have a computer and access to music production software.
Learning Goals
Students will understand how to use a Digital audio workstation to 1. Make beats. 2. Play and program instrumental parts. 3. Create chord progressions.4. Create Melodies. 5. Compose. 6. Arrange. 7. Mix. 8 Master recordings.
