Assessment
Assessment for this ongoing class is informal. All work and activities are learner directed by ability and done together with the teacher. A certificate of completion is awarded at the end of each method book.Class Experience
In this ongoing class, one student will learn musical concepts and how to play the piano. We will include topics such as: Week of 2/1: Isolating Fingers Week of 2/8: Quarter Notes & Half Notes Week of 2/15: Note Names: C/D/E Week of 2/22: Note Names: F/G Week of 3/1: Note Name: Middle C & Whole Note Week of 3/8: Note Name: D & dynamics Week of 3/15: Note Name: A/B Week of 3/22: Time Signature We will also be learning how to play well known songs based on the student's age including: Mary Had a Little Lamb, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Amazing Grace, the Addams Family theme and many more! Students will need the Wunderkeys Primer Book 1 (linked below from Amazon) as well as a keyboard/piano. Failure to show within the first 15 minutes of the lesson or cancellation with less than 24 hour notice will not be refunded.

Hi! I'm Kristin.
I live in Indiana with my husband and two kids, ages 3 and 6 months.
I love to teach music classes to all ages, but I specialize in beginning piano students ages 5 - 13. I love helping students discover a love for music and there is nothing as rewarding as seeing pride on the faces of learners as they accomplish their goals and make beautiful music.
I have a Bachelor's in Music Education as well as teaching licenses in two states in the US. I have been teaching since 2013 - in middle school & high school classrooms (choir, piano, and general music), private voice and piano lessons online and in person, and a preschool music class.
I love to teach using modern methods, songs the learners love, and lots of composing our own music.
