Class Experience

Let’s play a fun version of BINGO! But instead of the classic rows of numbers and columns of letters, we hear patterns and find them on personalized game boards to make five in a row.

We will be hearing and locating combinations of Quarter Note, Quarter Rest and Eighth Note 4-beat patterns.

This class is great for beginning musicians. Each student has access to a PDF KEY with information on what we will be doing.

No instruments are required, but if anyone wants to play the rhythms on an instrument, they can!

This class in non-competitive and we strive to help and support each other.

My teaching style is high energy and enthusiastic, and I try really hard to find ways to connect to the learners to make music as fun and as accessible as possible. I love to interact and ask for suggestions and ideas, I encourage learners to help each other, and I want to hear their voices. I would like to keep the learners unmuted as much as I can in order to maintain a group game environment, and will only mute learners for excess audio interference.

Learning Goals

- Students will learn the beat values of Quarter Notes, Quarter Rests and Eighth Notes.
- We will be chanting the syllables TA, SHH and TI TI to denote the value.
- Students will hear the patterns, think cognitively about them and then identify the correct notes.
- Musicians will either learn or strengthen their musical abilities.

Parental Guidance
Please provide a quiet space for your learner so that they may be able to hear the patterns. Some learners may be muted if there is excessive background noise. All students will be able to chat with me privately if needed. This class is for beginners. Though most musicians will be able to pick up the concept quickly, some musicians may benefit by looking over the PDF materials before class to see what will be covered. Other musicians may like to use this class as a way to test their knowledge. No musical experience or instrument is required. Reach out if you have any concerns.
