Informal assessmentClass Experience
In this class, the student will learn how to draw both the Treble Clef, which is foundational for many instruments. The class will be structured by learning the clef first and then beginning to learn about the notes on the spaces and on the lines. The child will be drawing the music staff (5 lines) according to the teacher's instructions, using a pencil and ruler. We will learn the exact way to draw the staff, so that your learner will have success easily. Then the students will learn the letter names on the lines and spaces of the Treble clef, with easy phrases that help them to retain the names. The teacher will ask for ideas to name the notes, with the student's idea. The Musical Alphabet will be learned (Letters A-G). Teacher expertise and credentials
I have taught children preschool through high school for over 25 years. I have a Bachelor's in Music Education with an emphasis in voice, and have played piano since I was 9 years old. I enjoyed accompanying many of my fellow Music majors for their juries (finals) in college. Knowing the basics gives children the confidence to pursue their favorite instrument and that's an amazing gift. I am patient and encouraging and love to engage with my students in a very positive way. I look forward to teaching your child.
