This engaging class is designed to build upon the foundations laid in "Music for Kids: Rhythm, Melody, Theory, & Ear Training (Level Two Fun)" or "Let's Learn Rhythm Basics!" and "Let's Learn Melody Basics!" sessions, and elevate your learner's musical skills to new heights. In each session of "Music for Kids: Rhythm, Melody, Theory, & Ear Training (Level Three Fun)," we embark on a delightful musical voyage, exploring various elements that make music so enchanting and expressive. Throughout the class, we'll cover a range of activities to enhance musical proficiency, nurture your child's creativity, and strengthen their musical instincts. What to Expect: 1. Vocal Warm-up: We kick off each session with a vocal warm-up, ensuring that our voices are ready to harmonize and carry us through the musical journey ahead. 2. Rhythm Activator: Groove to the beat and feel the pulse as we dive into rhythm activation exercises that will improve your learner's sense of timing and rhythmical prowess. 3. Prodigies Music Videos: Delve into captivating videos by Prodigies Music, which focus on solfege, music theory, and sight-singing. These professionally crafted resources unlock the mysteries of music in an engaging and easy-to-understand manner. 4. Ear Training: Sharpen your listening skills and train your ears to identify various musical elements, empowering you to appreciate music in a whole new way. Weeks 1-8: Mi Sol La To start off Level Three, we'll focus on the sounds of "Nanny Nanny Boo Boo"—Mi Sol La, which make up dozens of melodies like "Doggie Doggie." Week 1 - Mi Sol La Intro Week 2 - Doggie, Doggie Week 3 - It's Raining, It's Pouring Week 4 - Beet & Avocado Week 5 - Lucy Locket Week 6 - Acka Backa Week 7 - Bye Bye Baby Bunting Week 8 - Perform & Assess Weeks 9-16: Fa Sol La Here we’ll play more 3 note melodies, but this time in the key of F Major to give us more practice with Fa Sol and La. Plus, we’ll play some more difficult songs using 6 notes. Other Details
Pre-Requisites
Level 3 is best for students who have completed levels 1 & 2, but it will be fantastic for anyone who knows how to read basic rhythms (whole, half, quarter, eighth, and sixteenth notes) and can identify pitches on the treble clef.
Supply List
We will be singing, clapping, and tapping on our legs. If learners have desk bells, they may use them, but they are not required for the class.
