🎶 Class Structure
Our class always starts with a hello song! I also incorporate an attendance song to help students gain confidence with using their singing voice but there is no pressure! After our hello song and attendance, our class will transition into the main lesson. Each week has a different musical topic we will focus on. The lesson’s main topic is incorporated in a variety of ways by singing, playing, movement and listening. Students are observed carefully throughout the course of each lesson to ensure they are able to understand, identify and apply each musical concept as it is introduced. Lastly, this class provides a comforting and nurturing environment to ensure every child feels confident expressing and exploring their voices and musical potential.

🍏 How The Class Will Be Taught
In order to appeal to a wide range of learning styles, this class will use relevant songs, movement and dances, listening activities and instrument playing to introduce each week’s musical concept. I incorporate technology frequently in this class and provide visual, auditory and tactile experiences for all the of the learners who enroll. This class also progresses at the pace of the learners which means things may move ahead or behind the course schedule depending on the needs of the learners.

👩🏼‍🏫 Teacher Style
As we explore the world of music together, I understand that singing or dancing, especially on one's own, can sometimes feel intimidating for children at this age. To create a supportive environment, I ensure that there are opportunities for them to try these activities without any pressure or judgment. In my class, it's not about being perfect; it's about trying new things and celebrating moments of courage. If a learner feels hesitant about singing or dancing, I always offer positive feedback for all the brave steps they take. Every effort is celebrated, and growth is acknowledged, no matter how long it takes.

🙋🏽 Teacher-Student and Learner Interaction
Growth will look different for each learner depending on the child’s learning style and that’s okay! While this is a group class, I interact individually with each child and ensure that each learner receives the support they need to thrive.
