In this one-time music class, students will learn to create rhythms and patterns using peanut butter and jelly ingredient words.
Class experience
During this class, students will "make" peanut butter and jelly rhythm sandwiches. Using the words "bread" (quarter note), "jelly" (eighth notes) and "peanut butter" (sixteenth notes), we will create sandwich rhythms together! First, we will practice each ingredient in slow 4-beat measures to get a sense of the beat and how each word (rhythm) fits within a beat. Students will practice using the ingredient words with the teacher first, and then we will work together to create different 4-beat...
This class is taught in English.
Students will practice rhythmic patterns using syllables in place of rhythmic notation. Students will practice using a steady beat. Students will learn to create their own 4-beat rhythms using the ingredient words and a steady beat combined. Students will work together to create short rhythmic patterns.
