Class Experience

These lessons aim to provide students with a foundational understanding of music composition, focusing on music theory concepts, techniques, and creative processes. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge, practical exercises, and hands-on composition projects, students will develop skills they can apply to create original musical work, regardless of style or genre.

Students are expected to already have basic knowledge of music theory, and have access to music notation software (Finale, Sibelius, Musescore, etc).

𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞:
- Learning and using theory elements (rhythm, harmony, intervals, etc), as needed for the projects the learner wants to undertake
- Music notation and formatting; how notated music looks
- Structure and form in music
- Orchestration and arranging
- Listening and analyzing music, and applying principles to their works
- Working on personal projects that the learner wants to undertake
