⭐⭐⭐Welcome to my classroom!⭐⭐⭐ In this club, learners will get to practice their music-reading skills together by playing games. Each week we will play games that help us practice reading: notes on the staff, notes on the piano, solfege, note lengths, and rhythms. The games we will play will be a variety of competitive team games and full-class collaboration. We will be switching up the games and topics every week so the learners get to have a well-rounded experience. During our meetings, I will be facilitating each game we play as well as helping the learners understand topics they might need more attention with. We will spend the entire meeting time playing, with a minute or two in between each game for questions. Since this is a game club, your learner will get to interact with me and the other learners for the entirety of each meeting. As we get started in the first four weeks, we will be focusing on the following topics: Week of June 26-July 3: Mirroring solfege and rhythms Week of July 3-July 10: Recognizing piano keys and mirroring solfege Week of July10-July 17: Naming solfege and note length math Week of July 17-July 24: Recognizing notes on the staff and making rhythms This club is here to give your learner an opportunity to practice; all levels of skill and prior knowledge are welcome!

Hi! I’m Mr. Bennett. I am a voice teacher, music production teacher, and more than anything a music theory nerd who’s passionate about education. I draw upon 10 years of formal study in vocal performance and music theory. As a musician who has experience with styles ranging all the way from Baroque choral music to EDM and back again, I believe that learning foundational skills gives us the versatility and freedom to work across all genres holistically. My philosophy is that we all have our own unique musical identities, my mission is to help you find and own yours.
