Description

Class Experience

Students will learn through interactive musical activities including singing, dancing, clapping, and more!
A typical music class includes the following: 
1. Hello Song: Students sing hello and are encouraged to say "hello" to the teacher and to each other
2. "We Will Rock You" Song: Students answer the question "How are you?" while stomping and clapping the beat.
3. Music Together: Students participate in a series of movements and call-and-response vocal activities
4. Themed Music: Depending...

Students will learn basic verbal and nonverbal communication skills such as:
1. How to say "Hello" and "Goodbye"
2. Use of eye contact and other physical communication (high five, smile)
3. How to appropriately socialize and interact with peers

As a board-certified music therapist, I have a wealth of experience in working with children who have special needs. I have worked with individuals who are both nonverbal and verbal in both one-on-one and group settings. Through the power of music, I have seen children shift from nonverbal to verbal in a matter of minutes. Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
