Description
Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
Students will learn about four of the fundamental building blocks in music: Motive, Repetition, Sequence and Retrograde. Students will learn how they are used in popular and classical music, and how to incorporate them into their own compositions.
Hi Everyone! I graduated from the University of Toronto’s theatre and drama program with a minor in Education, I have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of students, from professional singers to those simply wanting to improve their speaking voice. Whether you’re a beginner looking to develop a solid foundation in technique, or an experienced performer looking to fine-tune your craft, my passion is helping you to unlock your true potential! In my lessons, I focus on building a strong technical foundation through exercises designed to improve breath control, vocal range, and tone quality. I also place a strong emphasis on stage presence and performance techniques, helping my students to feel confident and at ease on stage. I am excited to work with you and help you achieve your goals! A bit about me, I was vice president of the University of Toronto’s Drama Coalition and the artistic director of the St Michael’s College Troubadours, where I directed, wrote, and acted in various productions including Everybody, The Rocky Horror Show, and Falsettos. I have worked with several theatre companies including the Lower Ossington Theatre, Hart House Theatre, Toronto Fringe Festival, and many more!
Students will want to spend time during the week working on their compositions, and experimenting with different ideas that we learned in class. During class we can then further discuss, listen, and share ideas as a group, encouraging further exploration of the materials.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
4 hours 10 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
