I have been studying and playing Indian Classical Music and the Sitar for 8 years under Pandit Nandkishor Muley, a world renowned musician and educator. I have a deep love for Indian music and the sitar and have had the opportunity to perform at Universal Studios Orlando and at Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom theme park. Indian music has enriched my life in a profound way and I am excited to share it with my students!
Listen to as much Hindustani music as you wish! I have attached suggested listening examples. I highly encourage you to continue exploring this wonderful style of music.
Pencil and paper for taking notes is optional.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Indian music has its roots based in spirituality. We will touch on these aspects of the music in an objective and non dogmatic way so that it may be accessible to people of all faiths.
