What kind of music do you like? Have you heard that song? I love that song too!

Music is a great icebreaker conversation topic and is a great way to start a friendship.

While music is often a common thread in friendships, it is also important to broaden your horizons and learn about other music styles.  

Each week learners will get to "request" songs, and share their favorites with their friends.  

We will also have a quick mini-lesson on conversation skills.

Class Outline:

At the beginning of each class we will start with a mini-lesson on conversation.

We will then start with a "pop" song and begin sharing our thoughts and musical experiences in a student led discussion.  

Students can then take turns making song requests.  Songs may not all be available, and only songs that are "clean" and appropriate will be played.

Student led discussion will be encouraged between each song.  A playlist will be shared after class of all of the songs that were hand selected by students! Students are encouraged to build their musical knowledge and come to class with some interesting and thoughtful songs.  Students can also simply request the song that they can't get out of their head because they love it so much.
