In this one time class, I will provide an overview of the anatomy and physiology of Muscular Dystrophy.
Class experience
In this class, we will begin by discussing the physiological process of Muscular Dystrophy. To do this, we will first discuss what the normal anatomy should look like. Then we will compare that to the anatomy of a person who has Muscular Dystrophy. Students will also learn about the long-term affects. I will be using slides as I provide this information. This class is taught in English.
I have worked as a nurse in the ICU for the last 20 years. I have taken care of people with a variety of medical issues including Muscular Dystrophy. During that time, a very large portion of my job was to teach my patients about their disease process, medical treatments and necessary lifestyle changes. My patients have come from both ends of the age spectrum and everywhere in between. I have also taught kung-fu for more than 10 years. In this, I also taught students from all areas of the spectrum, including teenagers.
