Dr. Lauren is a highly accomplished educator with over a decade of experience as a certified Orton-Gillingham practitioner. With 100 hours of certified coursework and additional certifications as a special educator in Maryland and an educational therapist, Dr. Lauren brings a wealth of expertise to her teaching.
Her diverse background includes working in specialized private elementary schools, public middle schools, and as a learning specialist at a private school. Dr. Lauren has also provided technical assistance and training to numerous schools across Maryland, helping educators grasp the science of reading, structured literacy, and dyslexia awareness.
In her private practice, Dr. Lauren offers personalized Orton-Gillingham interventions for struggling readers and writers and provides coaching for neurodiverse students and adults. She is also a co-author of the book The Speech-Language Pathologist Guide to Dyslexia and serves as a Literacy Expert Researcher for the Maryland State Department of Education, where she is dedicated to transforming the literacy landscape across the state.
