Class Experience
In this one-time 45 minute class, students will learn everything they need to know about multiplying fractions and mixed numbers. Students will participate in guided practice and independent practice of each skill. Students will also practice simplifying fractions into lowest terms. When presented with a mixed number multiplied by a mixed number, students will be taught how to convert into an improper fraction before multiplying. Students will be able to multiply a fraction by a fraction. Students will be able to multiply mixed numbers. Students will be able to convert mixed numbers into improper fractions and improper fractions to mixed numbers.
-Notebook/paper and pencil OR whiteboard and dry erase marker
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
