Students will earn to Multiply and Divide Integers using an easy strategy.
Class experience
We will start class by defining what an integer is. Students will then learn a strategy to let them know what to do when multiplying and dividing integers. Students will use this strategy to determine the sign of the final answer when multiplying and dividing. Once the strategy has been modeled, students will work on skill based problems to implement the strategy. Students will work on problems given and then will work on problems provided by other students while checking for accuracy....
Students will multiply and divide integers fluently using a strategy to know the final sign of their answer.
This is a lesson that I have taught both in a public school with a class of 30 students and in private tutoring setting, and I have always been able to identify the misconceptions regarding this lesson. This helps me adjust the lesson to individual needs.
Please have students come to class prepared with a notebook, a pencil and at least two colored pens
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
