Class Experience

In this course, students will learn how to:

-Apply and extend previous understandings of multiplication to multiply a fraction or whole number by a fraction.
-Solve real world problems involving multiplication of fractions and mixed numbers, e.g., by using visual fraction models or equations to represent the problem.
-Apply and extend previous understandings of division to divide unit fractions by whole numbers and whole numbers by unit fractions.
Optional homework will be provided on Wednesday each week. This is not required but extra practice can help students to solidify their skills. 
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Students will be asked to complete an exit ticket at the end of each lesson to ensure understanding of the day's topic. 
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
