Multiplication tips and tricks will be taught in this 25 minute session full of practice and fun.
Class experience
In this fast-paced, interactive session we will begin with a mental warm-up, followed by a short lesson. We will then practice our facts and wrap-up with a fun game. The child will be encouraged to see, hear, say and physically write or manipulate simultaneously to help increase memory of the target facts. I am a licensed teacher in the State of Indiana with over 25 years experience teaching, tutoring and coaching. I have been trained in the Orton-Gillingham method by The Dyslexia Institute of Indiana and in Kindergarten OG by the M.A. Rooney Foundation. I have completed Advanced Orton-Gillingham Training and Written Expression Training by the Dyslexia Institute of Indiana. I have completed courses on dyslexia and structured literacy through the Montessori Foundation. I have also taken Conscious Discipline training. I am a professional member of the International Dyslexia Association. I am currently working on LETRS training through Voyager Sopris Learning and have completed Units 1-4 with Certificates of Mastery. In 2018-2020 I worked in a private Montessori school serving students who have Individual Service Plans. I also have experience with a variety of math methods and curriculums, but have been specifically tutoring using RightStart Math for 12 years.
The learner will need either pencil and paper or a white board. I also suggest some plain white sheets of paper be made available as we will likely be drawing some models and/or pictures of various characters to help with remembering the facts.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
