Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 5
The times tables can be intimidating, but my goal is to make learning them fun! This class is great for students at all levels, whether they have been introduced to multiplication and are struggling, or are brand new to it. I like to get all of the kids actively engaged in class discussions at their comfort level, and will encourage them to participate as much as they can. Quieter students are welcome to observe if they prefer not to speak in a group setting. My classroom is very inclusive and friendly! :)

In this 8 week course, we will meet twice weekly to practice the times tables. I will show the students various strategies, patterns, songs and tips that will help them memorize their multiplication facts. We will play Kahoot and Gimkit at the end of each class to review that week's times tables. We will have a new focus each week, with a comprehensive review at the end.

Our schedule is as follows:

Week 1: Introduction to Multiplication; Skip counting by 2's, 5's, and 10's
Week 2: Learn and Practice the 3's and 4's
Week 3: Learn and Practice the 6's
Week 4: Learn and Practice the 7's
Week 5: Learn and Practice the 8's
Week 6: Learn and Practice the 9's
Week 7: Learn and Practice the 10's and 11's
Week 8: Learn and Practice the 12's and Review

The students will need to practice for about 15-20 minutes each week outside of class. I will send links to songs and worksheets for them to use at home. It would be a good idea for them to have flashcards to practice with as well. You can find these on Amazon, sometimes at Target or Walmart, or even make your own using note cards.
Learning Goals
