In this camp we will learn the basics of multiplication with the game Trust No One and other Gimkit games. We will learn what multiplication is and how to model and solve problems. This class will focus on understanding over memorization.

Description
Class Experience
This camp is for students that are new to multiplication or need a refresher of the basics. The first 2 days will focus on the basics using hands on methods. We will make arrays and groups of items using food and play dough. The other 6 days will be focused on learning the times tables for each numbers through songs and videos. The second half of each class will be spent playing an educational version of Among Us or another Gimkit game chosen by the students. Students will answer questions...
Students will gain confidence and skill in multiplying 1 digit numbers. Students will understand the meaning of multiplication Students will get practice on their times tables
I am an elementary teacher with a math certification. I have been teaching upper elementary students for the past 9 years.
Optional homework assignments will be given such as: -Array scavenger hunt, finding arrays in the real world -Write a multiplication problem -Practice multiplication with games
Whiteboard and Marker Cereal such as cheerios that can be good for making arrays or "groups of" items (Other options include blocks, cheez its, small candies) Play dough
