Description

Class Experience

In this course I will be talking about different strategies used to multiply. Each class will focus on a different method, that way the most amount of practice can be applied, and that way there is also time for review and questions at both the beginning and the end. The first class will be a guide to see where the students are so I know how to gear the class and the speed at which we do things. I will use the "I do, We do, You do" method of teaching, where it starts off with examples from...

Students will learn how to use different methods to solve multiplication problems.

I am a credentialed and fully licensed teacher in the state of California, I have been teaching for 4 years and tutoring for almost 15 years. I also have written curriculum, tests, and lessons that have been able to produce student understanding and enjoyment on a variety of topics.

Students will need to review the strategies taught in class. I will give 3-6 questions for the students to solve using the different methods.

Paper/Whiteboard ($10 at Walmart or Target)
Pencil/Whiteboard marker 
Crayons/Markers/Colored Pencils/Colored Whiteboard Markers ($5 for a pack at Target)
Some sort of small item such as Legos, rice, M&Ms, Goldfish, etc to be used in the lesson for the strategy on manipulatives

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

2 hours 45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
