Beginner Level
In this fun and engaging ongoing math class students will learn the beginning foundations of multiplication. Students will practice early multiplication concepts by using Equal Groups and Arrays, Repeated Addition, Skip Counting and more to help them solve simple problems involving multiplication. Students will also practice learning their multiplication tables and learn all about commutative property, factors, and products. They will also practice using these tools to solve simple word problems which will further reinforce their newly learned early multiplication skills. This class will be taught in a warm and friendly discussion setting in which the students will have opportunity to interact, discuss, practice and solve the math problems together as a class. Students do not need to know their multiplication facts to take this class but should know their addition to second grade level. This class will use the annotate feature in the Zoom classroom so students can write their answers on screen. Please help your student to be prepared to use the Zoom tools before class by helping them find the annotate tools on their device ahead of class if possible. :)
Learning Goals
Students will practice newly learned strategies to solve multiplication problems and gain a deeper understanding of the way the multiplication works.

Supply List
Students should bring paper and a pencil with them to class. If there are any printouts needed for any class, the teacher will provide these before the class for that week.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hello! I’m Teacher Sheila.
I’ve been teaching both children and adults for over 20 years.
I have a Bachelors Degree in education, I’m TESOL certified and I’m homeschool certified as well.
I am currently teaching English online to children in China. I also offer classes in Common Core subjects Online in the US as well.
I have home schooled all five of my children, 4 have graduated 12th grade and I’m currently working with my last kid who will be starting High School this year.
I am so very passionate about teaching that I even spend much of my free time in volunteer work teaching others. My goal is to instill in my students a lifelong love of learning.
In fact I believe in learning so much that I am always involved continuing education myself, whether it be in foreign language, improving my teaching techniques and even weekly public speaking classes.
