Need a fun way to practice multiplication facts? In this class, students will play ZAP! a game where you don't know the winner until the very end. I love this game because it's a game of chance as well as a game of skill. Kids will be so engrossed in the game aspect of this that they will forget that they're doing math! Students are expected to be somewhat familiar with their multiplication facts. There will not be any teaching in this class, it's just a chance for kids to get together and have fun practicing their facts. We will cover all multiplication facts from 0 x 0 to 12 x 12. A multiplication chart will be provided and students can use it to help them during the game. My classes are all about engagement. I believe that if students are actively DOING something, they will learn more. You'll never hear me talk for more than 3 minutes at a time. I deliver a small chunk of info, and then I let the students process it by doing something with it. It could be a discussion, lab, worksheet, drawing, or game. I love games!
I teach group science classes, math game classes, and math tutoring. The math game classes are designed for kids who already know the concepts, but just need fun extra practice.
