Struggle with spelling? In this course, students will engage all areas of their brain as they learn common spelling rules and complete weekly word lists. Please check word lists prior to enrollment. This class has a wide age range in order to accommodate those with diverse learning needs. Prerequisites: Students should know all letters of the alphabet and the corresponding sounds, including short and long vowels. Students should also be able to read and segment basic CVC words. Students will learn common spelling rules for English words and apply these rules using a multi-sensory approach.
1 file available upon enrollmentStudent Supply List For each meeting, students will need: -Paper and writing utensil or dry erase board and marker -Sensory item for letter tracing (optional, but highly recommended): This may be a piece of sandpaper, needlepoint plastic, carpet remnant or sensory bag (zippered bag filled with 1-2 cups of liquid glue). Students who do not have a sensory item will be asked to trace letters on their hand or table. -Video and microphone access are highly recommended.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
