If your student needs a caring and engaging teacher to provide instruction or intervention with spelling, writing, or reading (particularly if they've struggled with traditional phonics instruction or been diagnosed or suspected to have dyslexia or dysgraphia), this course would be a beneficial addition to their education! Feel free to have your child join this ongoing course at any time; however, due to the multi-sensory component of this course, please note that the requested supply on the learner supply list is essential for your child's success and ability to participate in all parts of the live class instruction. During each class, I will provide direct, multi-sensory spelling, literacy and writing instruction. Students will develop a deeper understanding of syllables, the fundamental sounds of English (phonemes), spelling rules, word recognition, correct letter formation and sentence mechanics. Each live class is designed to be incredibly engaging and interactive for each student, providing many opportunities for different senses and kinesthetic body movements to ensure different areas of your child's brain is engaged in the learning process. This helps strengthen retention, long-term memory and sustains children's interest throughout class. High repetitions and positive feedback is incorporated to each class meeting to help build student confidence and proficiency of the material. I will provide instruction utilizing first through sixth grade-level spelling patterns to close learning gaps and accelerate learning. Students will be supported and challenged by me throughout each class based on their individual needs. Although each student's needs are different, families should notice improvements in your child's reading, writing, letter formation or spelling abilities after just a few classes. Each session of this multi-sensory reading, writing and spelling class will be structured based on a mix of 4-10 different words. Students will have repeated directed instruction opportunities to: 1. Hear the word 2. Experience visuals for the word 3. Identify phonemes, graphemes and spelling patterns within the word 4. Read the word 5. Segment and divide the word into individual syllables 6. Build the word 7. Sensory work with the word 8. Perfect proper letter formations 9. Write the word independently 10. Use the word to compose a written sentence (unless this is above the individual student's level) 11. Edit and revise writing utilizing correct capitalization, punctuation, grammar and consistent penmanship Students that enroll in this course should be able to: - correctly identify the name and sound of at least 22 lowercase letters of the alphabet - know how to read and spell the following words independently: "can", "she", "sat", "did", “jug”, and “that”. If your child can’t accomplish these prerequisites currently, please enroll them in either my “Multi-Sensory Beginning Reading, Spelling and Writing for Young Learners” or “Letter Sounds, Phonics, & Beginning to Read (Multi-Sensory)” class. Because this is an ongoing subscription class, your payment will be charged each Sunday of the week a class is scheduled. If your child will be unable to attend all classes in a week, simply unsubscribe from the class prior to Sunday and you won't be charged for that week; however, it isn't possible for me to hold your seat in the class when you unsubscribe if it were to fill up with another learner.

You’ll see this after enrollment in the course.

Students should bring a separate device with an internet browser like a smartphone, iPad, or laptop, or if students are using a computer, they can open up a separate window to play the game and still see me and friends via Zoom. Students may need support the last 8-6 minutes of class getting set up with the game initially. They should play the game independently once they’re signed up. They do not need an account or login. I will provide the game code live in zoom when it’s time to play.
