Students will learn how to use the strategy of partial quotients in order to solve a 1 digit by 2-4 digit division problems. We will cover place value concepts, multiplying by friendly/easy numbers, subtracting up to 4 digits, and adding up to 3 digits. The class will be structured in the typical format of I do, we do it together, and they do it on their own. The concepts will be taught through a whiteboard, examples, pictures/visuals, and simple step by step directions. The learners will get to interact with one another by guiding each other and they will also interact and have discussions with me. The learners will need to know basic place value, basic multiplication, and how to add/subtract up to the thousands place.
