I am excited to offer this live class for students that have completed the first 29 pages of the Faber Piano Adventures Level 1 Lesson Book (either my Piano Class #6 or something comparable). It is important for students to have learned notes on the staff as well as intervals prior to enrolling in this class. Each week, students will attend the live class and be introduced to new musical skills. Students will continue learning about intervals, as well as chords, sharps, and flats....
In this class, students will continue learning skills in the Piano Adventures Level 1 Lesson Book. In this course, they will begin on page 30. Students they will practice using both hands on the piano at the same time, as well as review intervals, rests, accidentals, and chords. They will practice playing in C position as well as other hand positions.
I am a retired public school music teacher. I graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC with a Bachelors of Music Education. I have taught music to all grades in the public school system, but spent most of time in elementary and middle school music. I have taught private piano lessons for many years in my home to all ages, ranging from 5 years old to adults. I have taught online for more than 5 years and enjoy this a great deal! I am also certified in Reading and ESL and enjoy working with all ages of students.
Each week, students will be given pages to practice at home as well as additional activities to work on in order to strengthen the skills taught. For homework each week, students are encouraged to spend time practicing the skills they have been taught in the class.

This class uses practice videos that I have created through zoom and have loaded into YouTube as unlisted videos. These videos are in bedded into the classroom so that students do not need to leave the classroom in order to access them. I have been given permission from piano adventures to create these practice videos.
Videos that have been uploaded to Youtube as unlisted videos will could possibly be sent home after classes. These videos have been embedded into the Outschool classroom so that students will not need to access them outside of the classroom.
