Description
Class Experience
Learners will receive targeted support and instruction within the preferred content area: phonemic awareness, phonics, reading, comprehension, spelling, writing, math, etc.
I am a certified teacher with 11 years of classroom teaching experience (currently, I teach 2nd grade at a public school system in Nebraska). I hold my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education K-6 with an endorsement in ESL, and my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a Reading Specialist Endorsement.
Depending on the learning goals of the session, I may send an activity that can be printed prior to class. Most of the activities can be completed without extra materials. Certain learners may choose to use a white board, marker, and eraser, if these materials are available to them in your home.
Parents will receive a weekly progress report, which will indicate "progress" or "mastery" of the skills we have worked on throughout the week. I will also jot anecdotal notes about each session (I like to call them "glows and grows").
3 hours per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
