My innovative teaching style earned three Disney's Teacherrific Awards (2002, 2003, and 2005). In 2008, I ventured to Japan with the Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund teacher's program, and designed lessons to share the beauty of their culture upon my return. One notable chapter unfolded in the 2009 Disney's Environmentality Challenge when my students took on the menace of plastic grocery bags.
