MSM Unit 6 Lesson 1: Circles, Pi & Circumference With Danny (6th & 7th Grade)
Class experience
US Grade 6 - 7
This course focuses on building a foundational understanding of circles, and the relationship between pi, radius, diameter, and circumference of a circle. Through discussion, we will arrive at an equation, which we will use and manipulate to solve various types of problems. This course contains one lesson taught in a single session of 40 minutes. -- Class Structure -- The general structure of the class will include a thorough introduction of the topic using simple illustrations or...
After successfully completing this course, learners will be able to - Correctly identify radius, diameter, and circumference on a circle - Explain the significance of pi - Use given information to construct a representative equation - Use equation to solve for the radius, diameter, or circumference of a circle Problems will be limited to positive values. Fraction and decimal values will be included.
As a public school math teacher, I have many hours of experience in coaching learners on how to be successful in math. I have helped learners prepare for standardized and classroom testing, as well as provided many hours of private tutoring. I have also taught many learners on Outschool, with highly positive reviews and feedback.
