Description

Class Experience

After successfully completing this course, learners will be able to:
-	Add and subtract fractions, with like or unlike denominators

Problems will primarily be limited to purely fractional values, with some discussion of mixed numbers in later problems.
As a public school math teacher, I have many hours of experience in coaching learners on how to be successful in math. I have helped learners prepare for standardized and classroom testing, as well as provided many hours of private tutoring. I have also taught many learners on Outschool, with highly positive reviews and feedback.
Homework is provided as extra practice but will not be collected. Estimated time to complete the homework assignment is 20 – 45 minutes, depending on learner’s level of math competency. Parents/Family are encouraged to use the provided Answer Key to check learner progress. The Answer Key will be posted 2 days after the lesson. If you have questions after reviewing the Answer Key, please post to the class page and I will respond within 24 hours. I want to encourage you to post to the class page instead of sending a message so that other learners in the class can benefit.
Please check Classroom page prior to the class session to download class materials and homework PDFs. These can be printed and used as interactive notes and practice worksheets, or simply as an on-screen guide as we go through the lesson. Learners should have a way to take notes and work out problems, and a calculator to check their work.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Please ensure your learner has access to the Class Materials and Homework PDFs prior to the lesson. Each learner should have these documents either printed out, or available on a screen. Each student should have a way to take notes and solve practice problems. Please check the Classroom page 2 days after the lesson for the Answer Key PDF.
