This ongoing class is a good follow-up to my one-time read aloud class. In my Reading Adventures Club, we will read and explore a new title each week! Classes do not build upon each other. Students can enter at any point. These are the titles I have chosen for the first six weeks of this ongoing course. At that point, I will choose a new theme and advise parents/learners. Students will learn: - Vocabulary - Sight Words - Critical Thinking Skills - Appreciation for Literature
There will not be written work assigned, but rather, students may be asked, for example, to: explore nature, draw a picture, retell the story to a parent or sibling. I love when students share back to me how they carry their classroom experiences out into the world.
I will furnish learners with the book title and author each week. This is a great opportunity to expand the home library!
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
- Apple Books
Any assessment will be informal.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
