Class Experience
Ms. Marie’s Play School is there for those looking for consistency, a welcoming classroom environment and an engaging way for their child to learn! This is a class for early learners to be introduced to, to practice and to enhance their social emotional and academic skills. The class is run as a 6 week session so that the group of children can build relationships with each other and their teacher! They will gain the consistency of classroom routines as well as practicing their fine...
**All About Me, All About You: Let’s learn about each other!** Possible activities include: What are our names? What are our likes and dislikes? How are we the same? How are we different? We will focus on learning the first letters and/or names of everyone in class. We will create self portraits of ourselves by looking at our own personal features We will share some of our favorite things We will create visual representations of comparisons about ourselves **We’re Going to the Zoo** Possible activities include: We will virtually visit a zoo to see some animals in action! We will decide together which animal we should study together. We will find out facts about this animal We will craft this animal We will bring any zoo animals we have to set up our own zoo! We will play a guessing game about different animals you may find at the zoo. We will play charades of zoo animals. What’s Outside? Let’s Take A Walk! Possible activities include: We will look at the sky and the clouds We will read It Looked Like Spilt Milk by Charles Green Shaw We will collect and share items from nature We will do observational drawings of plants We will use sticks and stones to create letters We will make nature collages and/or designs
1 file available upon enrollmentSuggested: Set your child up with a space or “box” of supplies for our classes. This could include, but is not limited to: Paper (scrap or otherwise) Writing utensils Drawing utensils Child friendly scissors Glue stick Supplies that are good to have on hand: Playdough Paints Watercolor set Brushes Smock or paint shirt Recycled materials (boxes, etc). Note: There will be days when certain materials (toys, books, etc) are needed or encouraged. I will be sure to let you know in advance of that.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Some activities will require more guidance than others. For example, if we are painting or doing an experiment, a parent may want to be nearby. Sharing your child's learning in our Outschool classroom really enhances the experience. Please post pictures of your child's work so that we can see what they are working on!
