A one-time class where we will explore the wintery world of the Arctic including the animals that survive in these frigid temperatures such as polar bears, walruses, and seals! We will end with an experiment to reveal how blubber works!

Class Experience

Students will learn about the Arctic and the vast array of animals that live there. 
Students will specifically learn about blubber and its purpose. 
Students will conduct a science experiment to better understand how animals survive. 
Mixing bowl
Ice water
2 quart or sandwich sized baggies filled halfway with oil (any kind)
1 large gallon sized bag

Please note that the oil will be reusable after this class. Students will not be touching or interacting with the oil itself. 
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
