Beginner Level
Welcome to an Introduction to Microsoft Excel. This is a beginner’s course and aims to give the new spreadsheet user a thorough grounding in the basics of creating and working with spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel. Particular emphasis is placed on developing accurate and well-designed spreadsheets employing sound design and documentation principles. This course assumes little or no knowledge of spreadsheets or Microsoft Excel. However, it would be beneficial to have a general understanding of personal computers and the operating system environment, especially in regard to working with files and folders, although this is not essential. Each class will be focused on a particular aspect of using Excel, and we will go through examples together in class. Therefore, the class will be highly interactive and students are encouraged to participate by asking questions and attempting to use the software themselves.
Learning Goals
After this course students will have an understanding of the basic features of Excel and should begin to use the software with some confidence!
