To encourage and nurture student's love of reading, this book club focuses on socializing and discussing the wild, on-page adventure known as the Ranger's Apprentice series by John Flanagan. This series follows an orphaned boy who is assigned to apprentice a Ranger (skilled trackers responsible for helping to protect the fictional Kingdom of Araluen). This class is designed to nurture student's love of adventure and reading through fun, engaging conversations and book discussion with friends

I have been an online English teacher for over 3 years now. I have 2200+ hours of experience working with students in a virtual classroom environment. I have a passion for reading and for studying the English language. I am an avid reader and book lover who gravitates towards fantasy books or feel-good stories. There are few things I love more than discussing a good book with great friends and I love sharing my passion for reading!

Students are expected to read the material on their own PRIOR to class so they are ready to discuss

Students are responsible for their own access to the books we are discussing class- The Ranger's Apprentice series by John Flanagan (11 books)- whether that be through ordering/purchasing the books or using their local libraries.

50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

This is a fantasy story designed for kids but that means there are magical elements, battles, and action in the story.
