Class Experience
In this class we will be reading the book, We All Belong, written by Nathalie Goss. A story about diversity, race and empathy. The children in the story find different ways on how they are the same and how they are all different. Everyone belongs to the human race. I will read the story aloud engaging your child during reading, by asking him or her several comprehension questions. Please read the class description to see if this class is a good fit for your child. For example: * Why do...
Your child will: * Gain an understanding of the story through comprehension questions. * Improve on listening skills, turn taking, patience, emotional regulation. * Improve punctuation and sentence structure. * Practice fine motor control, hand eye coordination. * Increase vocabulary and phonic awareness.
A handout will be provided. Pencils, crayons and/or markers.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
