Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will improve their problem solving skills, communication skills, social skills, jewelry design skills as well as learning to take inspiration from others to tap into their own creativity.
I have over 25 years of experience in many forms of beadwork and jewelry making. I am also a licensed K-12 educator with experience teaching in multiple subject areas and grade levels including behavior and social skills.
No homework is assigned for this class however teacher will encourage students to continue work on their projects and explore new projects.
Students will need to bring whatever project they are working on or beads and tools to create their own, student driven projects. Students who are unsure what supplies they will need are welcome to come to a class and discuss with the teacher what they would like to make and what materials they might need to be able to work on the project for the next class. If you would like help locating places to acquire these items or suggestions of items based on projects your child would like to complete, I am happy to set up a meeting with you and your child prior to class. Suggested supplies would be; Seed beads of differing sizes and colors. Invisible nylon thread or waxed beading thread beading needle, thin enough to fit through your smallest chosen seed bead. I recommend size 11 scissors Jump rings Clasps earing hooks A bead board felt craft sheets, canvas or stiffened fabric 3x5 or 5x7 notecards
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There are no assessments for this class, students are given immediate verbal feedback as needed. Progress on projects and skill strengths or weaknesses can be shared with parents upon request
