PLEASE NOTE: The lessons in this ongoing class will loop back to the beginning when all have been completed, so it's always a good time to jump in! Teaching writing gives me great pleasure, and in this ongoing class, I get to share my most favorite classes with you! Each of these super-fun classes is also offered independently. When we've completed them, we'll cycle back through them again. If you miss one the first time, you can catch it the second! The first 15 lessons are listed below. There may be occasional modifications to the schedule as needed. LESSON #1 - "Ba-Da-Bing! Magically Transforming Lifeless Sentences into Vividly-Shared Experiences" ("Don't say it was "delightful". Make us say, "delightful," when we've read the description. " (C.S. Lewis)) LESSON #2 - "Catchin' the 575: Learning How to Read, Write, and Enjoy Haiku" (We're going to learn to write one of the most fun forms of poetry: Haiku!) LESSON #3 - "Magic Threes: How This, That, and The Other Fatten Sentences & Excite Readers!" (Don't just write, "I dropped the ball." Instead, write, "The red-striped ball flew out of my hands, bounced wildly down the stairs, and landed in my father's bowl of cereal!") LESSON #4 - "FANBOYS: Getting Super-Excited About Coordinating Conjunctions" (Harmoniously joining together sentences that were once living separate, sad, and solitary lives.) LESSON #5 - "Reelin' 'Em In! (Using Irresistible Hooks to Catch and Keep Your Readers' Attention)" (There's no such thing as "Catch-and-Release" when you HOOK your reader in the first sentence!) LESSON #6 - "Fun Forms: Writing Diamante & Cinquain Poems" Part 1 (Cinquain) (Simple guidelines that lead to spectacular shaped poems!) LESSON #7 - "Fun Forms: Writing Diamante & Cinquain Poems" Part 2 (Diamante) (Simple guidelines that lead to spectacular shaped poems!) LESSON #8 – “Make it Personal: Using Truisms to Connect Your Readers” Hearts to Your Writing (Let’s learn how basic truths about life can help you and your reader build an instant relationship!” LESSON #9 – “AAAWWUBBIS: When a Complete Sentence Simply Isn’t Enough” (When we join dependent clauses to independent clauses, we create a more interesting sentence. – By the way, that was an AAAWWUBBIS Sentence!”) LESSON #10: "Friendly Letter Roulette (Spinning for Topics/Writing for Fun!)" LESSON #11 – “The Kernel Essay: Making Your Words Pop Out!” #1 (Let’s get those words to pop out of your brain and onto the page!) LESSON #12 – “Fun Forms: Writing Autobiographical and Clerihew Poems” PART ONE (Getting personal with an Autobiographical poem) LESSON #13 – “Fun Forms: Writing Autobiographical and Clerihew Poems” PART TWO (Have a little fun writing a humorous Clerihew poem.) LESSON #14 – “Journaling With Heart” (Part #1) (Let’s get you started on a journaling routine that will train your thoughts to flow from your brain to your paper, strengthen your writing skills, and send you on a journey of exploration of all things writable.) LESSON #15 – “Journaling With Heart” (Part #2) (Let’s get you started on a journaling routine that will train your thoughts to flow from your brain to your paper, strengthen your writing skills, and send you on a journey of exploration of all things writable.) Remember, we are all expanding our knowledge together (including the teacher). I'm looking forward to learning with you! Mrs. Rae Marie (M.Ed.) (Writing, Poetry, Fantasy Fiction, ACE Educator)

Teacher expertise and credentials
Master's Degree in Education from LeTourneau University
I've taught reading and writing to multiple ages for several years, and I also have served as an instructional coach.
I absolutely love to write and share the joy of writing, and I've taught writing for several years. I understand that writing isn't everyone's cup of tea, so I am beyond happy to share some ways to bring your words to the surface. Oftentimes, it's just a matter of sorting out what's happening in your brain and getting it to come out in the right order. I'm here for you!
