Homework can be given upon request of the parent or student. If the student would like extra practice in between sessions, I can have worksheets available.
Assessment
In this class, the student will be assessed mostly by observation. If they happen to do a homework assignment, grading of the homework assignment could stand as another form of assessment.

Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
Beginner - Intermediate Level
This class is designed to help students prepare for the U.S. Constitution test and to better understand the structure and functions of the United States government. This class will be structured like a tutoring session. During classes, the student will follow a presentation of information, study tips, study games, and assessments to help students lock in the information from that day. This tutoring class will build on the knowledge that the student has mastered and what they still need to work on. 

The topics that will be covered during these classes are as follows: 27 amendments, three branches of government, functions of Congress, judicial review, roles of the President, the preamble and articles of the Constitution, and checks and balances. 

Sample Class Structure 
- introductions (2-5 minutes) 
- Slides presentation over the Legislative Branch (20) minutes 
- Questions (5 minutes) 
- Review Game (7-10 minutes)
-Assessment (5-7 minutes; optional homework)

Other Details

Parental Guidance
Even though this class discusses the functions and structures of government, no political opinions will be discussed. The point of this class is to understand the workings and procedures of the government. This class is not a place to spread opinions or hold debates discussing political agendas.
Pre-Requisites
In this tutoring class, your student does not need any previous knowledge of government. Since this is 1-on-1 tutoring students have the ability to start from scratch.
Supply List
Students may want to bring something to take notes on. Notes are optional and not required for the course.
