Genre Reading Camp! This camp will meet five times for one week. Within those five days, students will learn about the different reading genre's. Each day the class will read two or three different stories. This class will focus on the different styles of writing and how to identify the different types of stories. Students will also be sharpening their reading comprehension skills because at the end of each story will be comprehension and discussion questions. Day 1: Learning each genre through lecture and powerpoint. Next, students will play a Kahoot review game over the different genre's discussed in class. Lastly, student will read a Non-Fiction story. Day 2: Students will read and analyze two fiction stories. Day 3: Students will read and analyze two Dramas. Day 4: Students will read and analyze Poetry Day 5: Students will read and analyze Folklore. The purpose of this class is to expose students to different writing styles and types of stories in hopes that this will help them discover what they might like to read. Reading is a very important aspect of life, and finding the types of stories that interest you the most will help create life long readers.

All stories will be age appropriate . Students will be using Kahoot during one class meeting. No account is required for students to participate in Kahoot.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have two years of public school reading instruction as well as I have been teaching reading classes on Outschool for a year now. I am vey passionate about the importance of reading and developing life long readers. I believe that reading is a top priority because it affects every other academic subject.
