During this book study, not only will students be reading a new story, but they will also be practicing communication skills, comprehensions skills and strategies, and engaging with other students over the contents of the book. Bridge to Terabithia is a great book for students to read. This book helps students visualize what they are reading and making real world connections. Students will improve their reading comprehension skills and reading fluency from this class.
The only reason a child will have homework is if they miss a class and would like to stay caught up with what is going on in the book. I will not be assigning chapters as we will read them together in class.

Learners progress is assessed through observation and oral/ written assessment to students and parents.
1 hour 50 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
The only sensitive subject in this book is at the end. Leslie, a main character, drowns int he creek. This event could be triggering if a student has had experience with this through a family member.
During this book study we will be reading from the book Bridge to Terabitha by Katherine Paterson. It would be more beneficial to students if they had the book to read along with.
